A Study for Causal Relationship path of Hybrid Characteristic`s Effect on Social Enterprise`s Sustainability: Focused on Causal Loop Diagram and Types of Social Purpose
Kim Hyeong-Don

Abstract
This study examined path of hybrid characteristic`s effect on social enterprises`s sustainability by defining social enterprise`s intrinsic characteristic as hybrid. It also drew Causal Loop Diagram and verified the existence of feedback loops. Key findings are followings. Firstly, two variables directly affecting SE`s sustainability are organizational legitimacy and revenue: sum of multiple resource mobilization activities. In the basic model, three feedback loops are drawn which are market¤ýpubli c¤ýcommunity loops located in multiple resource mobilization sector. These feedback loops are reinforcing so both virtuous circle and vicious circle are possible. The pursuit of multiple goals and multiple stakeholder affect variables existing in multiple resource mobilization feedback loops and cause virtuous circle or vicious circle. Through this, they indirectly affect SE`s sustainability. Secondly, Key strategic variables on which Social entrepreneurs should focus are different because social enterprise`s operational mechanisms depends on types of social purpose. Social purpose specific key strategies are like followings: Social entrepreneurs`s role to supplement low productivity of the vulnerable in case of job creation type, strategic partnership in case of social service provision type, solid network with community necessary to mobilize and reproduce social capital in case of local community contribution type. These findings can be used as basic data for social entrepreneurs to make optimal strategies and for public servant in charge of supporting policy to make effective supporting policies at the purpose of facilitating virtuous circle for SE`s sustainability.
